I must admit I was delighted that the Irish voted NO!. However, we are not even members of the EU and even if we were, the Lisbon Treaty is now dead, deceased, expired, no more, an ex treaty.

Oh how I wish that you were right Paul.

Now it looks like Jose Manuel"Himmler" Dura Barraso has got his way and Eire are set to vote yes to the Lisbon Treaty in another referendum that flies smack in the face of democracy.

Britain is still the finest country in the world and the envy of the EU, why the hell are we all sitting back and watching our great nation, that has given the world so much, be destroyed by incompetent idiots.

Hi Paul, I just need to correct you there, the UK are indeed members of the EU, hence why you have parties like UKIP fighting the good fight in the European Parliament...

Of course, one could also argue that no country is a member of the "EU", because at the moment "EU" is merely a trading name of the EEC... The company "European Union" was due to be created upon ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. (if you look up the change to the irish constitution that was proposed in last years referendum you will see that European Economic Community was due to be replaced by European Union in the text).

All the best,
Barry

Can't see it passing again, we're all pretty pissed of over here and the people in government are doing a piss poor job right now.

And if they try to run the referendum again without making any changes to the treaty it will be unconstitutional...

Even so, if it does happen i'll be on the streets again re-educating people.

I think you'll see one of two scenarios played out, m8.

Firstly, the rise in violence - back to 'the bad old days' (of Mi5 aided 'terrorism'), or your gov just signs up to it, as did ours, recently - no referendum, no fanfare, nowt. I understand that it was Mrs Windsor herself who signed first and was impatient with Gordo!! - So, who benefits from this again? - us, I think not - them? - Most definatley!!

Wacth your backs over there, they want that treaty signed!!!
Peace and love,

Baldy

Hi BBD,gotta agree with what you say,the EU aren't going anywhere,i'd bet that they've already thought this through, coz lets be honest they've been at it a long time, and if plan a don't work, roll out plan b,an so on,already i see them distablizing things, what with a new episode of shootings, but my hope is the irish are more switch on than most with the times they've been through,my only doubt is,are they prepared to go through the troubles again if the EU rollout enough sweeteners, take care,Rob.

P.S. welldone the irish,winning the grandslam,a taff.

what we need is an independant in every constituent who is a person of honour and get everyone to vote for them then we could really change the corrupt society we are living in

John has asked a good question.

We don't need a Referendum.

What we need (instead) is the realisation of what we already have. And the assertion of it actively. Within the rule of a better system than the one imposed on us.

There is an e-petition on the government website which simply requests withdrawal from the EU.

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/UK-leave-EU/

Whilst this is not a referendum and the government are likely to ignore it if doesn't agree with it ,nevertheless it would be useful to get a feel for the strength of public opinion, to let people know they are not alone in their views, and if it became large enough could demonstrate to people who haven't noticed that our "democracy" has become a sham.

Please click the link and sign it.

Please also mass email everyone in your address book with details of the petition and look for any other ways of publicising it as I have done on this site.
Try requesting owners of sites that you think might be interested to put a link up.

(There are other petitions of interest that you might like to sign such as asking Brown to resign , http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/please-go/ )

Go on - let the bastards know what you think of them.
