just been visited by 'said' bailiffs.
he clamped a car that didnt belong to the 'alleged' debtor
we also got a picture of it. the car is also worth about £8000, it was clamped for the value of £400
is this not excessive??

The bailliff lied his arse off and the judge was waaay too willing to accept the bailliffs word over everyone elses and to make excuses when shown the paperwork! So they took the car and sold it leaving me in a very awkward posistion with the father inlaw!
These people are crooks! plain and simple, the law doesn't even come into it!
I'm waiting for enough people to waken up and get mad at what is going on and revolt but its a long f*cking wait!

Erm, I would take this post with a pinch of salt. 'attachment order on my father inlaws car'- no such thing. If it your father in law was the registered keeper then it would be easily provable, if you are then they were legally entitled to take it. Interested to know what debt this was for?

No such thing!? what do you mean? just google attachment order or look up the debtors arrangements and attachments act 2002, an attachment order was placed on my father inlaw's car because it was sat at my front door, my wife was using it to run errands for him. The registered keeper is not necesarrily the owner, it says so on the registration papers in black and white and that was the first thing the magistrate jumped on.
i would hardly make it up! and if I have too I will go to the trouble of photocopying the docs blacking out personal info, upload it on the laptop and post it here or you could take my word for it,saving me a shitload of trouble.
I also tried to get help from MPs SMPs and lawyers but it was all convienently kicked into the long grass until it was too late.
Bailliffs AND cops turned up and took the car and off it went to auction never to be seen again...still gutted about the whole thing and the attitudes of the bailliffs was nothing short of disgraceful.
"No such thing"...pffft
