Help regarding debt collecets please.

Postby nicky » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:07 pm

Hi guys,

I found out today that my HSBC account was closed last December because of a debt that I didn't know about, I don't use this account often and I didn't know about the debt. I moved house last August and haven't told HSBC therefore I didn't receive any of the letters. I asked if this could be resolved with the bank but because the debt has been sold the guy told me no. He gave me a number to call. But I haven't received any letters from any debt collectors (because they don't have my address). So my question is how do I go about sorting this out, I don't want to end up in court but I have no contract with any debt collectors. So what do I do? If I contact them does that mean i'm entering an agreement?

Does it mean that when they find out where I live, a new process will begin or I'll go straight to court? I don't want to go to court if I can help it. I'm not well equip with the knowledge needed.

Really need help on this one.

Thanks
nicky

My response to the debt collectors would be "thanks for paying my debt, now show me my contract with you, or piss off"
