Monsanto

I know we all know, but just a reminder!
"There's nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it – it's strategic. It's more powerful than bombs. It's more powerful than guns. This is the best way to control the populations of the world." –Vandana Shiva
The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the “revolving door”. One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company’s vice president for public policy.

Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market.

Monsanto’s long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence. (Excerpt from website)

Monsanto is a Corporation

Corporations are meant to control/rule the world i.e. 150 largest economic entities, 95 are Corporations, which are International - Banks included

They're also meant to be owned and controlled by certain families

Yet, investigation shows Governments are really the major shareholders in these Corporations, and the Corporations are empowered by Government legislation

Bare with me there is a point

But who is Government?

If we go back Government used to be Pharaohs & The Priesthood, Emperors & Patricians - Kings & 'Nobles' - Feudal Lords........

These people controlled Land & Trade/Guilds, and then created Government, with rotten bouroughs etc.

They then created Chartered Companies - East India - Hudson Bay etc.

They then created Livery Companies - Haberdashers etc.

During the industrial Revolution independent people/people other than the nobility also started to make money, so in the 20th Century they - the Government/'Nobles' Nationalised industries and re-established their monopolies.

Once the monopoly was established they run them at a loss and then privatised them again - but they were the ones that 'bought' them - and - they used their Government positions & tax payer money to buy shares in these companies, and now use proxy votes on the boards whilst awarding contracts through Government.

So who's really running it, Government, Corporations, Wealthy Famiilies - or is it, all 3? And it's never been any different......???

OR - who is Monsanto? A Corporation? A Government legislated front? Who needs campaigning against here - Monsonto or the Government?

Surely the 'Government' is to blame?

keep seed saving your heirlooms and join as many seedsaving clubs as you can and network these seeds, that way while everyone gets educated along the way as to the purpose of monsanto, less and less commercial seeds are purchased (leaving only big corps (maccy D's etc and supermarkets to use them which can be boycotted by growing your own), its bound to fail if everyone else waits for someone else to sort the problem out but you would be suprised how many people Ive met online and face to face that are saving seeds now for that rainy day! people have had enough of monsanto, testament to this is the fact they have had to up there game and by there own admissions of continually debunked propaganda they know if enough people save seed there is nothing they can do, the very people that they intend to confiscate these seeds will have been fed on them for a long time before this time happens, and they know it! they know exactly what this crap does to your dna and health in general, avoid it as much as you can, small changes will make one mighty change.
Any Government that will torture, will enslave.

Newb, I've never heard of a seed saving club but it sounds like an excellent idea. Are there any online?

LOL
They must have A seedbank for the `natural herb`.
Otherwise, they're missing out! LOL
TOP TIP: DRIVERS. Save money by putting much larger wheels on the back of your car.
That way you will always be going downhill, thereby saving on fuel.
