The forum will soon be modified to include user-groups for folks to organise themselves into teams according to their location and set-up their own gatherings. Hold tight there!
I'm sure the author of this thread had only good intentions at heart but we really are sailing in uncharted territories so much caution is advised!
In the meantime just keep watching what is going on and learning about what is relevant to you, there's a bit of trouble with the honchos just now but that'll work itself out.

Hopefully with the new proposals to improve the board we can get an individual forum for each region and then folks can start threads within each forum related to any proposed gatherings in more specific areas. Things could get untidy very quickly and it would be hard to keep track of what is occurring.
In the meantime folks can easily advertise their region by editing their profile.
We need everything to be out in the open rather than all going on via PM just in case there are some among us who would instigate a gathering on behalf of the PTB with a mind to disrupting things in an unpleasant way.
I'm sure the notion is much appreciated, the idea will be sustained, have no fear!

more specific than England, Wales etc. e.g Midlands, Home Counties, South-West etc. Then if enough interest is shown for gatherings in said regions topics or even subforums can be created to discuss such gatherings and it will be much easier for folks and newcomers to join in with the relevant discussion.
I admit that my previous assumptions re:coppers may have been a bit hasty but you are right in that folks just didn't get the idea!
We need to be able to make use of stickies so important instructions and info are kept to the top of the forum and everyone knows how stuff works.
