Court action despite letter from BBC saying it's sorted?

Postby theoneandonlyrobert » Tue Jul 05, 2011 4:23 pm

Hello everyone,

I followed the procedure set out on this forum and when BBC sent me letters I wrote to Chairman etc. Cut a long story short they eventually sent round an inpector, who asked for Mr Robert ........., to which I stated I am Robert of the family name......... not Mr Robert .........

He wrote various notes and then refused to give me a copy of them when I requested them saying "No, you won't tell me who you are so I'm not giving you copies"

Nex thing a letter from BBC arrives saying basically we were going to take you to court but as you've set up a payment plan we won't.

I never set up any payment plan !

The a court summons arrives to which I replied with a copy of the BBC letter and again stating I am Robert of the family name ......

They have now written back having adjourned the case for a month stating I must fill out their form and give them a list of my earnings etc, they want my rebuttal on their form not in letter format.

I don't feel I should even bother to give them it because the case as far as I'm concerned and the latest paperwork from BBC means it should not have reached court as there is no dispute.

What do you guys reckon I should do next? Turn up at court? Just write another letter, which could end up with them h earing the case in my absence?

Your thoughts are welcome,
Robert

why not rebut them with a form, making it clear your form has to be filled in? tvl are fantastic sports and you can drag them on for months before you show them a tv that doesnt get a signal.

i know its wasting taxpayers money but whos initiating the waste, tvl or someone at home minding their own business unil a couple of clipboards arrive uninvited making all kinds of threats and demands. except for the sake of peaceful co existence with psychopathic bullies you have every right to punch their lights out for even suggesting anything that threatens the privacy of your home.

The first wrong thing you did was tell them who you are and what your name was, i mean come on, you know they will lie through their arse to get your money.

If and when they turn up at my door, they will be asked who are you and whats your business here, once they have said their bit i will inform them that their implied right of access has been withdrawn, which usually gets them flustered as they dont have a clue what it means and then inform them that they are now tresspassing and they have 5 seconds to make it through the front gate or the dogs will be set loose, then watch them run!

Tell them nothing!!!

Update:

I fought this all the way and have eventually won, the BBC have given up and sent me letter to say they had dropped the court action.

Basically, I signed up a Direct Debit but never paid it, was due to go to court on 22nd Jan but on 6th Jan BBC wrote from their legal department to say they had dropped case and wouldn't pursue anymore.

I did nothing more than not pay the Direct Debit payments and they went away.

I now have another problem with Council Tax bailiffs, which I'll put in another post.
