Public think Olympics @£9bn were value for money

Postby losecontrol » Sat Aug 11, 2012 11:13 am

John Harris once came out with a profound unpalatable truth. He said...
"We are at the situation we are in, because people must have wanted it this way"

The Guardian today published on the front page, that the majority of the public think the Olympics were "value for money" .. that's right, all £9 billion (and the rest!) of it.

I don't believe the public can even begin to grasp what 1/100th of that figure looks like, in physical form. But whilst the exchequery is in "quantative easing" mode, manufacturing money from nowhere, then hey, who really cares about the odd £billion here and there?

The Olympics costings, actually equates to £150million per British olympic medal.
Yet I see signs for foodbanks for the poor popping up everywhere now.
Apparently the public don't see any correlation!
Just bring on the dancing horses, and let them dream on.
Could you fancy me as a pirate bold? Or a longship Viking warrior with the old gods on his side?
Well I'm an inshore man and I'm nobody's hero, but I'll make you tight for a windy night and a dark ride.
