Define work?
Should I help someone in need just to see how much money I can screw out of them?
Is work a place I go for a few hours to receive a pittance, to then hand over to the state?
Or is work contributing something of value which benefits another person?

Helping others from my heart without asking for a reward brings far greater satisfaction than receiving a piece of fine cotton with a thief's head on it. Included comes a bonus, the person you help willingly offers you their time and resources. This confirms that money is worthless. Try it sometime.

Hey, legaleagle no hard feelings ;)
A thief and a legal expert are no different, apart from the thief probably lacks a little knowledge.

Oh I do work for nothing quite often (pro bono) the difference is I don't sit around with my hand out the rest of the time asking someone else to pay my bills.

You are already getting your reward for doing nothing and then justifying it by saying you take some guys bins out, and give people the benefit of your skills for free. Well it's not for free as they (hopefully) pay taxes and thus they are the people paying for your lifestyle.

A thief and a legal expert are no different except the legal expert gets payed by people (or the government) to do a service. The people choose to use that service and thus choose to pay for that service.

A thief and a benefit scrounger on the other hand, there is no difference. Except many thieves I have defended admit they are thieves.

Would it be ok in your book for me to pretend to be sick in order to get disability benefit? Or pretend to have more kids so as to get more child benefit?

Great! You can defend me then. The last solicitor fucked off with £2000 and i'm looking at 7 years.

Yes, my ceased firms V.A.T and tax bills are all up to date and paid.
So why shouldn't I take a break and experience life on benefits for a while.

I don't normally respond to posts because forums become a battleground. Newcomers see bickering and move on. So please, i'm not interested in fighting over the internet.

As I say to everyone if you don't qualify for legal aid then contact the bar pro bono department www.barprobono.org.uk/ who will look and see if they can help. However from what you have posted you should be entitled to legal aid based on your income.

What is it you are accused of?

To be honest its a forced contract and you will consent to it and sign it and do it
1 next time you go in,ask them if youre obliged to comply legally
2 tell thm you beleive there is an issue with human rights
3 ask him her to tell you what part of the act theyre complying you with
and finally you can spin them out with this below, but read it first.

Fundamental Rights Of The european union

Article 5 section 2
Article 15 section 1 and 2

REMEBER THIS THEY THINK YOURE THICK,but i now know youre armed with knowledge.unclefreshy

Thanks for your replies. Its not actually the work aspect that I have a problem with. I was made redundant a few years ago from a job I was happy with and been knocked back from the interviews I have had since then. Its just the humiliating aspect of the program itself that bothers me, and I know what its like because I have been there before.

Its not so much the program as the humiliating way that you are treated as someone needing "special help" with finding work. There are those of us who seek work but cannot get a job and there are those who simply do not want the work and thats fine for them but we are all lumped together and called a lazy bunch of bone idle bastards. When I was a voluntary post I was told "we are doing you a favour giving you "valuable" work experience"  I pissed myself laughing and said report this then and walked out for three days. She came to my house to apologise in case I reported her but I dont do sh*t like that. However, I did get my own back. ;)
