On may the 5th 2011 (over a year ago) I was walking my dog on a local field.
I had stopped to pick up some dog mess, when a man approched me. he was in normal clothes and had a bag of shopping with.
He said "Excuse me, I would like to talk to you about the litter that you have just thrown over the hedge"
I said "excuse me, what litter?"
he then said "What is your name, Tell me or you will get arrested."
I told him to f***, and started to walk away. He then pushed me in the back and said I was going to be arrested.
I spun around and saw that he had opened his coat and was wearing a yellow CPO vest with a radio attached. He then repeated that he wanted my name or I would get arrested.
By now, I was shouting at him for pushing me. He then radio'ed for help saying I was being agressive.
The police came mob handed. 3 cars and a dog van.
He told them that I had attacked him when he had asked for my name.
I asked him again where the alledged litter was, when a Police officer said "It's not about the litter, it's about assualt now"
I was arrested and taken to the police station.
I was interviewed and my solicitor asked them to find the 'Litter' as it would prove or disprove my account of events.
I was then taken back to the cells while an investigation was taken.
After around 7 hours the police released me without charge as they couldn't find any litter.
Fast forward to July and I was taken to court by the local council and had to make an undertaking that I wouldn't assault any council employees.
I thought that was that, and asked my solicitor to make a complaint against the CPO, when in December I received a summons from the Chief of police for 'Beating a CPO'.
The court case has been ongoing.
At the last court appearence it transpired that the Police have recording of the event, and that it confirms my side of the story.
The CP said that they had not heard the recording and asked for the case to be adjourned while they investigated.
I am back at court on the 6th of June, all because of a lying CPO.
My solicitor says it's likely that I will be found not guilty.
I have lost my job because of the court appearences that I had to make.
I'll keep you informed as to the outcome.
