Surveying the masses about ID card

Just had a woman calling on the neighbourhood doing a survey on the ID card.

Typical questions where:

Do you think it will be free? (Doh, No!)

Can you name the benefits of the ID card scheme

Are there any downsides to the ID card scheme (Doh, yes)

Do you trust the government to keep your data safe? Do you trust supermarkets to keep your details safe? Do you trust the banks to keep your data safe etc

Do you think the ID Card scheme is generally a good idea? Good idea is not the phrase i'd use, more like "Nazi Germany", our forefathers fought to stop us havintg to live like this?

Do you think this will cut down on the number of illegal immegrants? (Doh, No!)

I answered all these questions at great length, but she ended up me labelling me as "one of those conspiracy people", but I think I did open her eyes a bit, but she insisted the we live in a free society and couldn't see that the most of our media is controlled.

Was just wondering why they do these surveys, it is to see how well their propoganda is working or is it some other reason?
