moon landing photography

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist unless you my belief that we have had a fascist panopticon built around us without mandate and against our will . . . A theory . . . Or even conspiracy when it has been done so openly in front of us, but i thought i would visit this section of the board because i am at a loss to explain two well known facts about the moon that seen to me to be a total contradiction. Fact one is that the face of the moon we see from earth never changes. That face is always pointing toward the earth sometimes fully lit sometimes completely dark as it is tonight as a "new moon" is due to start waxing in the next day or so. Fact two is that the astronaughts took a famous photo from the moon famously entitled earthrise. Since the moon is always facing the earth as i mentioned and you can see for yourself by looking up , is it not impossible for the earth to rise over a horizon for a fixed point on the moon? The only way to take the earthrise series would be to do so while travelling from the far face to the near face? Is there something i am missing here and if not is the idea of a little blue ball in space perhaps a chinese whisper replicated on one fake photo after another and the true dimensions and reality of earth still a mystery?

If you mean this one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NASA- ... thrise.jpg

It was not taken from the surface of the moon. It was taken from Apollo 8 on its orbit around the moon, making an "earthrise" easily possible.

On the subject of earthrises seen from the surface of the moon, wikipedia has THIS to say:

An earthrise that might be witnessed from the surface of the Moon would be quite unlike sunrises on Earth. Because the Moon is tidally locked with the Earth, one side of the Moon always faces toward Earth. Interpretation of this fact would lead one to believe that the Earth's position is fixed on the lunar sky and no earthrises can occur. However, the Moon librates slightly, which causes the Earth to draw a Lissajous figure on the sky. This figure fits inside a rectangle 15°48' wide and 13°20' high (in angular dimensions), while the angular diameter of the Earth as seen from Moon is only about 2°. This means that earthrises are visible near the edge of the Earth-observable surface of the Moon (about 20% of the surface). Since a full libration cycle takes about 27 days, earthrises are very slow, and it takes about 48 hours for Earth to clear its diameter.[11] During the course of the month-long lunar orbit, an observer would additionally witness a succession of "Earth phases", much like the lunar phases seen from Earth. That is what accounts for the half-illuminated globe seen in the photograph.

i still think that is a projection onto a studio lit screen.send up an unmanned craft with remote control cammera to take the images then fake the landings in the studio.it's just my opinion. ;)

Well so much for my conspiracy theory. Debunked already by the cold hard fact that apollo 8 never purported to have landed on the moon. However fondness for my new tinfoil hat makes me consider this and wonder why it is that if they had not landed on the moon by apollo 8, why were there so many companies selling cream cheese at that time. One or two would be obvious fraud but the thousands who were trading cream cheese must have got it from somewhere. If not apollo 8 them where else? Marsians?

Tut Tut Stephen, the moon is clearly made of SOLID Cheese, not Cream Cheese.
Cream Cheese is dug out of volcanic vents in the ocean floor, which is how it stays so soft.

moon landing photography

"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon" ( an old one this, but one of the best; and it has been removed a few times in the past too)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UK0ZyQw2oA

How some of the photos were faked by the astronauts (actual filmed evidence of the astronauts in the capsule; 300 miles out while claiming many thousands) and how compartmentalisation kept it so only a few would need to know the opp.

They say the coldest place known right now to man is in the shadow of a creator on the moon at -270ish kelvin. I wonder if the astronauts found their way into the shadow of their own space craft or each other for that matter and felt similar cold temperatures..

They?
Who's they exactly? especially bearing in mind there is no such thing as MINUS anything Kelvin as 0 Kelvin is absolute Zero (-273C)

Here's a Different THEY: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-n ... 00801.html

I guess here on earth has the coldest temp reading known to man, which to me makes more sense than a reading from another rock only a few men have walked on..maybe.

(They was the top hit on google for coldest temp known to man).
