Or do you mean Lucy Allan - former Conservative councillor who appeared on day time TV recently ?
“The middle-class mother, a Tory councillor, was happily married to her stockbroker husband, Robin, and doted on their ten-year-old son, who loved going to school and was a passionate cricketer.
Indeed, such was Mrs Allan’s standing in the community that this accountant and former investment banker was on David Cameron’s A-list of potential MPs and a prospective Conservative candidate at the last election.
She devoted her spare time to her council duties. Twice a month, she sat on the local fostering panel, which oversaw the removal of children from their parents and placed them with new families.”

Or do you mean Emily Cox - former LIB councillor who is the mistress of the MP John Hemming, who sat on an adoption panel ?
MP nearly had to sue his own council over threat to his baby.
Millionaire MP John Hemming revealed last night how social workers had threatened to place his newborn baby daughter Isabel on an at-risk register.
The father of four is furious at their behaviour during an investigation into why Isabel’s mother, 30 year old Emily Cox, had not registered the death of a stillborn baby when she was a teenager.
The social workers later recommended that the infant should be placed on the child protection register but it is understood that this has been withdrawn.

"Birmingham City council then found itself in the extraordinary position of being sued by one of its own councillors. In December, Hemming issued a writ alleging Ms Cox had been "defamed, tortured and assaulted" by social services, who had, he claimed, breached her human rights. He was seeking £300,000 compensation, part of which he wanted to be paid personally by the individual social workers concerned.
In a statement, the council said it was "confident of all the actions taken alongside police and health colleagues" and the writ came to nothing."

"His wife claimed that in some cases the women believe the MP can help them improve their situation"
I wonder what cause could possibly attract a lot of vulnerable women?

I wonder if Mr Hemming ever served as an adjudicator on an adoption panel?
"Devon-born Coun Cox, who represents Moseley, said she was keen to think John would have tried to have influenced me not to. I am very happy about it.
The pregnancy was unplanned, but the baby is very much wanted and will be very much loved.
One of Ms Cox's council jobs is to sit as an adjudicator on Birmingham's adoption panel.
Some babies are born in far worse circumstances than this and this this one is going to be loved and well looked after, she said.
Coun Cox is single and graduated from Warwick University with a history degree.
She intends to carry on working for her Moseley constituents and to stand for re-election to the city council in 2007."
