If the Bible is truly a fictional story book as you claim then how can it seek to keep the power with the church/god when it openly states that you are not to go to the churches or be indoctrinated into them or religions or to become priests.
For this is the exact opposite of what you state it really sets out to do?

As to taking away freewill, the Bible is not in accordance with doing so, it again clearly states that freewill is fundamental for many reasons?

Also, the prophecies as stated within the Bible, how would you explain them actually having occurred as predicted because surely with all the best plans in place not even the great wordsmiths you speak of could possibly have ensured predictions made thousand of years ago would play out in exact detail as prophesied even with the wordsmiths etc causing them to happen?

Tell me do these people behind the scenes that you speak of use any type of symbol/mark to denote themselves, for example like the freemasons and their compass symbol etc?

without going into hours of deep discussion about this subject it is far easier to realise that i myself hold to the fact that this we are talking about is nothing more than a book to me and will never be anything more and it is obviously far more to you lj. i hold my opinions as you hold yours and in truth they should never stand in the way of friendship even if they differ. I agree with you John that we can hold differing opinions, as this is truly freewill. As for friendship, I have nothing but to give. in truth again this is what this book has created more than anything the divides that seperate men and women who believe, or hold too, simple differences in opinion It is not the bok that creates the divide amongst some but the people themselves. Similar to the gun, the gun is a useful tool and does not kill, but the one behind it is the killer. if i had to give a reason for this book to exist then the reason i have just stated is one of the most obvious one's.

all i will say is that predictions should be replaced with blue prints and then it is quite logical how this could happen, penned by wordsmiths deliberately, as i said before for a desired outcome - but again only in my opinion.
But John, even the blue prints of some of the greatest architects are not entirely in accordance with the actual buildings on the ground.
no they have no symbol they have no need of one.
Perhaps they will reveal their mark at a later date?

The mayan calendar is of no more prophetic consequence than our own calendars ng.

Think on it like so, do we look to our own calendars within our own homes and think when the last day of the year ends so does the world...
Or do we have calendars within our homes that take us right through the next millenia or more... what would be the point of doing so.

The mayans, for reasons known only to them chose to create a calendar that was way into the future, nothing more and nothing less.

When the mayan calendar ends on 21/12/2012, we shall all awake once again on the morn of 22/12/2012 as per every other day.

At several times within my life I have been in situations of peril and yet on each and every occassion I have walked free from them, as if under invisible protection.
Tell me if you will please, have you ever been in such and yet walked away unmarked?

If so, how would you explain such?
