New member. Help.

Postby ArturoDekko » Tue Nov 04, 2008 7:59 pm

Hello All. We are near Portsmouth if there is anyone close. My wife and I have only specifically been on this path for a few weeks now although much of our previous experience has prepared us. My self-employed income has taken a temporary sabbatical and I am not sure how we are going to eat for the next few months let alone spend $150 on a set of DVDs. All the usual bills are demanding payment and it would be ideal if we can learn how to deal with them before they become too serious. Although there is much inspiring information available, it seems that the hard facts required for action still cost money. Is it possible to dig oneself out of such a hole?

Hi and a very warm welcome
There are many good people on this forum whom I am sure will be able to give you some sound advise in your present predicament.
Lots of people (including myself) are suffering in this uphill battle to survive and feed our families due to the ever increasing cost of living.
It is especially hitting the self employed hard as work is continually drying up especially in the building trade, and just to kick you in the teeth again they bring in cscs cards which you now need to get a labouring job! (unbelievable)!
Once upon a time a builder could walk on site and easily get a job labouring.
But the government bring in these cards due to the influx of immigrants seeking work to also feed their families.
Everyone is feeling the pinch and cutting back on their expenditure to a bare minimum.
Please be assured you are not alone in your despair!

best wishes
Heven

Thank you for the welcome, I feel better already.
Lower income than expected and over 2 months before the next contract pay. Run away debt. Borrowed to sustain debt. Throwing cash I could not afford at debt. Sounds like the global economy  Oh how I wish I had known this sooner. What a senseless waste.

HARMONY is indeed far more powerful than discord. Is why THEY foster discord in all levels and areas of society. When we sing with one voice, we will overcome.
