I was looking at Veronica: Chapman on YouTube and apparently it counts as assault in common law if you traumatise a child, the door being open and anyone being free to enter makes the environment unsafe for the child and just touching someone can be counted as assault.

Take it as far as you possibly can my friend. Have you thought about bringing it to the attention of the civil liberties organisation, i am sure they would love to help you , i have every sympathy for you , it does seem that the bullies in uniform cover their arses at every available opportunity , in fact i would go as far to say it adds up to a criminal conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. good thing you stood up for yourself, but yet again I am convinced that confrontation and emotions are not good with police officers.
I had experience with DVLA + Police and worst thing you can do is to escalate situation and start insulting people and be aggressive. Search for DVLA thugs in google or youtube.
Doing that I ended up with my car towed away, and NSL DVLA agent Ishmael Clottey accusing me of common assault and I am still defending myself in criminal court.

Police and officials are not simply criminals, they are criminal who not aware of what they do, with criminals you can be aggressive and abusive and use force but with police you have to be respectful, polite, and neutral and calm, no matter how hard it is to keep boiling anger inside

Rob Menard was right - only love, understanding and peace helps with police and officials, it is going to be much harder for them to justify roughing you up
