I never did get Salinger's book it seems to be about teenage angst. Who I am now reading and really love his books is Philip K Dick and I am now talking to his wife Tessa on FB, she wrote a really interesting post on her blog stating that we are still living under the Roman Empire, which is what I have been stating for years.
Also the guy who does the Project Camelot interviews just interviewed a guy who claimed to have worked for the 33 elite bloodlines that control the world. What made my ears prick up was when he said, you should think of space as you do the ocean, because I have been saying that for years. When you look at UFO's they look like our cells do under the microscope.
Back to books The Biggest Secret David Icke Ruled by Secrecy Jim Marrs and The Gods of Eden by William Bramely.
All are on my bookshelf and I loan them out to friends and family they are helping them to wake up.

Dude wheres thie camelot video you are on about i would love to see it?

You might try reading The Most Dangerous Superstition by Larken Rose. You can get the ideas he promotes by watching his videos:

The Jones Plantation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb8Rj5xkDPk

and If You Were King

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNIgztvyU2U

He presents the ideas with childlike simplicity.
