I think you will find it is a petition to Basildon Council... as it is not a UK government issue (they just won't allow the international organisations in to negotiate with the head of state (chair of planning committee of the Council)) to negotiate..

All Council's under their constitution normally give a right for those living, working or STUDYING in the district to have the issue subject to the petition debated by full council and a decision notice issued. 5,000 petition seems to be the required number..

This is I think the first time the provision has been used..

Update...hows this for sheer ugliness...the Basildon council being aware that the petition was going to go way beyond 5000 signitures athus triggering a full council meeting have suspened all council meeting till further notice...this so they dont have to debate the issue in full!!!! Is this the type of despot tactics we expect from local leaders in GREAT BRITAIN?

Can members contact Basildon council and let them know what they think of this tactic and the eviction...can you pass on the address to all you know and on other forums/sites

It has if it was true but it isnt...these people name children after their families...on the site itself there are lots of people with the same name and in ireland and the area in question there is people with the same name as they are aunts uncles grand parents etc...dont believe what you read in the newspapers...i thought that was one of the basic tenets of being a member on here...ffs..

I think what needs to be understood is there will never be another eviction like this in the UK again..The government wont allow it to develop to the point it did and the legal people will put into position challenges to any eviction in the future...this is a one off...if you can get there do as its a once in a life time experience..
