I can go one better than that :D In the seventies there was a mainland bombing campaign by the IRA and the docklands area and surrounding was completely sealed off. Now my mate working in the MT sect had a dpm cam painted Mk 4 Ford Cortina and we sailed through every military and civilian police check without being stopped, straight through the red danger area area and out the other side to go on leave :lol: Of course if we had been wearing flourescent jackets we would have been nicked by the fashion police cos nobody else had them at the time :D

There must be something about glasgow cos every time a ship pulls in here theres a guy up the gang plank brandishing an assault rifle. Looks like sailors get a dose of humiliating as they all get id checks despite sharing a ship with the guys on the watch.
