Motor Insurance burea/Adive appreciated

Postby Cats » Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:25 pm

In the process of researching deregistering my car....keeping (taxed) car on my private land... had a standard letter from MIB about a month ago reminding me car needs to be insured. rang them in protest, gave no details explained to them letter was in the given name. and what I do with my own property on private land is my business, providing it’s lawful.
Have since had another letter telling me to pay a fine or face possible prosecution. Will be returning letter stating on envelope No contract return to sender, unwanted junk mail.
I know these letters are computer generated however I am livid with the intrusion!!
I do not want to send in a SORN declaration or for that matter comply with any rules regarding the DVLA and their contractors the MIB.....I will be getting insurance as soon as i decide i wish to use the vehicle. Needs a safety service first.
Has anyone any experience with this and what could possibly follow?.
Thanks.

I appreciate your reply and totally understand what you are saying.
Yes I originally registered the car and taxed it.
However:
I do not wish to file a SORN. various reasons being
A fine would still be incurred.
The MIB is a separate body and contracted down from the DVLA to keep track of uninsured vehicles instead of the DVLA. (yet again another company funded by the tax payer with no real value for the public)
The vehicle is on private land and I am incensed by the bother of civil law requiring myself to file a SORN, hand back tax disc then reinstate, all because I choose to keep a uninsured vehicle off the road.
And by not complying with these departments paper trails, receiving threats demanding £100, £50 paid early.

I have no intentions of paying protection monies to avoid “possible prosecution

I go about my own business causing no harm and would prefer these agencies to do the same
They do not need to know anything that I do, that information only serves to enable them to generate profit!

Understand I do NOT fear fines, bailiffs and civil courts.
This is a protest against intrusion and profiteering
Any ones experience with regards to the above would be welcomed and interesting

Perhaps as a moderator you could best advise a better section of the forum for this posting

As to de-registered vehicles I’m given the understanding there has been many successes, all be it with a few interruptions from police stops.

Yes move the post if that would help.
Try the freeman website for evidence and there`s a selection of people on youtube who are members of local freedomgroups who have successfully de-registerd who after police stops are then in their data system as not to be bothered again, they carry the paper work from the DVLA to prove and some also have paper work from their local police force incase one of those automatic number plate recognition system that`s not updated picks them up.

Quite right too....black and white evidence!
However back on topic it`s really about a fine on a lump of none moving metal on private land.
