I see it this way in concern of PM's,

A PM is like your front door, we all hate it when someone unannounced knocks it, then you answer it and they attempt to sell you anything from windows, free dinners, half price tickets, t.v licenses, religion, etc, etc.
This in turn forces one to have to be rude or impertinent or worse still.

Now, if we enquire before hand to let someone know that we will be knocking their door, good manners, then we give them the option to agree to us doing so, in which case saving both the knocker and the knocked any problems.

Simples...

I think you will find the Ishtar is the general sectary of the national union of avatars and icons (splitters!) of which easter bunny is a branch rep...and The BBW is regional health and safety rep (south east).
