Unlawful parking fine surely? Help us please xxx

Postby m3ld4r10n » Wed Oct 14, 2009 11:33 am

Hi. I'm inspired by what i've found out from you so far. I'm wondering if you can advise me to help my girl friend out of a tight spot. Together we're just getting on our feet in the world and have VERY LITTLE money.

But long storey short we drove into a private car park. realised we didn't have any money. so i left her, the driver, in the car whilst i went out to try and aquire some dosh at the local bank. but as i thought i didn't have any money so i went back to her and we wnt home.

she just got an £80 fine for not paying for her visit. this was not explained to her by the parking attendant who approached her during my abscense!!! he said it was fine!!!

she has arthritis for gods sakes and cna barely walk more than 300 metres.

can you help us get rid of this rediculous claim for our money? it will be doubled today and we're maing little progress :((((((((((

Indeed, pepipoo is the place to go but they will tell you this.

IGNORE THE CLAIM there is no claim a private company can make against you like this so thow the demands and the threats in the bin and forget about it.

I had something like this going back about a year ago, it was a fixed penalty for parking in a private car park eithen thought I was visiting someone who had a parking space on the car park. The bastards hit me with a fine for not having a permit in my window and it was a fine for £80. As you would expect I hit the roof, as the local council don't eithen charge that much, so how on earth they can get away with it, I do not know !? It give you a time limit of 14 days to pay it, and if you did not pay within that time it then went up to £120 and so on. I contested it, and I was all for going to there office to confront them face to face, but the address on the fine slip only give me the area they was based and a PO Box address ! I end up paying the crappy little fine, but after reading what Jobo and Camorion have said, does that mean I could of just ignore the fine, and told them to shove it ? It really did wind me up

I can't believe how they can get away, and have the cheek to fleece people the way they do  Should be a law against it ! I had same sort of probs with security were I use to work. I refused point blank to pay for a permit at my work place, so in the end they decided it would be funny to try and clamp my car ! After I descovered what they had done as someone informed me, I contacted the security office and explained about the clamp etc, so they told me to wait by my car and they would come round to see me. Three of them turned up in their little white van. After spending 10 minutes arguing the toss with them, they all had smug looks on there faces, and smirking as they begin to tell me how it was going to cost me £50 to have the clamp removed from my car  So I said fine, give me half hour and I'll be back ! So I went home, had a quick coffee and calmed myself down, went back to my car, had the clamp off within seconds, without caursing any damage to the clamp or my car, I put the clamp in my boot and drove my car, around to their poxy little office at the main entrance of my place of work, with a big sticker on my side window explaining it had been clamped etc. I got the undamaged clamp out of my boot, walk into the main entrance, to find the two guy's who clamped me walking towards me, and their faces was a picture, seeing me walking in with this big yellow clamp on my shoulder. I dropped it infront of them, and said here is your clamp back, and please don't try and clamp me again, as I will just keep taking it off ;) I told my managers what I did, and they just pissed themselves laughing as they had also been victims of clamping themselves. They never bothered me after that, and I still parked on site without a permit :D
