Just been researching some ins and outs on the citizens advice website,regarding the legality of a bbc enquiry officer appearing on your doorstep. You do not have to let the enquiry officer into your home. If you do allow an enquiry officer to come in, they will carry out a brief inspection of the main living areas. If they are satisfied there is no TV set, they can authorise a 'stop on contact' for four years. This means that no one will contact you about your TV Licence for four years.

If the enquiry officer is satisfied that you do not have a television licence and that you should have one, a statement will be taken under caution. The enquiry officer should not suggest that if you buy a licence within a certain period, no action will be taken.

If you do not let the enquiry officer in, they may apply to a magistrates' court (sheriff court in Scotland) for a search warrant. (In halls, their greedy practices are even more unbelieveable - they expect every ROOM to have its own licence.) Well firstly I have spent the last 2 months, since I heard you on Red Ice radio for the first time, telling everyone I know to look at this site....You my friend are a fellow angel and so are all the awakened spirits who visit this page.

I shall cancel my TV licence as of April when it expires...I shall not be paying for it next year ( I mean you can still watch BBCi player online for the rare good documentaries that sometimes occur, or a little stand up comedy as and when required ;)

I shall even attempt to legally avoid council tax payments and will offer you all here the chance to read each correspondence as and when received.

I have a few things I wish to * experiment* with this year...Call it an attempt to coming off the grid, becoming a free man , or angel ;) but whatever it is...it is RIGHT.

We must stand together and we must formulate plans and legal measures to stop this enslavement from becoming complete.

I stopped paying 2 years ago. I received various letters and a phone call. I lied and said I don't own a TV any longer, and they said they would have to send someone round to check. I said, feel free (knowing full well I wouldn't let them in if they did come round).

Anyway, it seems as though the licensing officer cannot find my house, let alone my TV.

Coincidentally I heard if you are stupid enough to let them in, they just try and flog you a TV License on the spot. And if it did go to court, the fine is not thousands of pounds like people think. But aside from all that, you don't have to let them in. Sadly, most people are governed by their own fears and fail to think logically, believing anything from stories of magical detector vans to weapons of mass destruction.

My TV Licence was due for renewal at the end of December 2009, but before that I kept up with the usual monthly re-payments. I cannot locate the old licence and cannot pay the new licence in full anyway. Can I still pay for my new licence in installments?

Recent revelations like climategate, the swine flu vaccine and many other treasonous acts are not being aired on the bbc in fact quite the opposite they still peddle the same lies to us, and they want us to pay them for this crap, no thanks, no more money off me and I'm going for a refund for the years I did blindly pay,

as my dad has always said, " whats the point of getting a tv licence? the tv works just as good without it" lol

I left home when I was 18 and am now 50 and have never paid for a licence in all that time. It my latest abode which i've been in for 18 months I still receive a threatening letter every couple of months or so, but it clearly states on the outside that urgent action is required immediately, so I immediately put it in the bin.

Stopped watching TV about 15 years ago. I suggest anyone wishing to wake up and realise a higher level of mental, spiritual and political awareness to do the same.

Television's filthy, repetitive tripe and hideous broadcasts such as the X-Factor are simply serving to dilute the arts and entertainment industries. Stop feeding these scum-sucking publicity whores and talentless leeches. Switch off and tune in to the real picture NOW - you'll never look back!

If you do have detection equipment, why do you need to enter a property?

A magistrate cannot authorise a search warrant based on suspicion,
suspicion is not evidence. You must have proof before a magistrate can
authorise a search warrant.

Magistrates has never issued a search warrant to TV Licence evaders
before, TVLA has never produced evidence from the use of detection
equipment.

There?s no obligation to let an officer into your home. But, if an officer is unable to confirm the situation we can?t authorise a long-term stop on our enquiries.

The Licensing Authority (the BBC) say that physical verification by eyesight is required to place a long-term stop to further enquiries for people who don?t receive TV.

I never watch the BBC propaganda sausage machine anyways as it really does suck balls at the best of times, so no big loss there. You want to feel better about yourself, get rid of you television, i used to have a tv, and i used to watch it regularly, but then i noticed that after time spent watching the news, soul destroying gameshows, american sitcoms or some other bull***t i felt really down. My theory is that all the advertizing fuels your lust for money and possesions that you dont need, so stop watching it.

I regularly go for walks now, read more books, listen to more music, have a better social life, i no longer feel the lust for s**t that i now obviously dont need, i FEEL things more easily(if that makes any sense), i appreciate life.

Another cool thing is that i dont have a Fu***ng clue about whats going on in the world but i can bet that it probably wont intrest me in the slightest way, i couldnt care less that every week the credit crunch will most definitely ruin our lives, have you ever wondered why the news is so negetive? Isnt it meant to be objective, is is "THE NEWS!" isnt it, no good stories, are they making this up?

The best thing i think is that you see the world in an entirely different perspective, i dont wanna go too deep into this but all i can ask you is to try it for at least a week

i'm afraid that i used a more grass roots approach to the knock on the door that i received yesterday evening. i was watching the football on sky for which i pay . i opened the window and the man stated that he had come to inspect my premises for a tv . i said that i didnt want anything from him and told him to f*** off . he said he would come back with the police , and i told him he could do what he wanted but could he still f*** off . he fiercely prodded the buttons on his hand held computer whilst giving me a menacing stare and walked off into the night . i hope i wasn't too rude , it's just that he made me miss a goal.

I used to pay the licence until I was educated by TPUC and many more , I questioned the BBC and received back the usual buck passing Standard letter, until I suddenly woke up to the fact that when TV Licence come calling to address one, what they really are addressing is your "FICTION", so when the ask you simply state sorry not me, this goes for all letters, Bills, etc etc, and also when you answer all letters you state the same and answer with your Christian Name only

My husband have never owned a tv but the licencing people never believed even though they came and checked it themselves before.
So they kept on sending letters of threat with red colour all over it. Then he got pissed off. I mean when he loses it, he loses it... Spent about 4 hours on the phone with the monkeys and eventually got hold of the head of tv licencing's PA. She passed the phone onto her boss. My husband, very politely (to my amazement) explained the guy that he finds TV a disgrace and he never watches it and pls take his name off from their list, regardless of any address change might occur. He said, sure. And since then, we never received any request for payment even though we moved twice since! Peace at last.
He still has the direct telephone number to this guys office :)

I stopped paying my TV licence a number of years ago. When I worked voluntary for the 'citizens advice bureau' I spoke with an elderly lady who was blind. She told me she had gone to the post office to renew her TV licence. Because she was blind she didnt notice that the girl behind the counter was not the usual girl who served her because she was a new assistant. The new girl charged her the full licence fee by mistake (she didnt know the lady was blind) Licence payers with impaired vision only pay half the licence fee. When the lady got home her daughter noticed the mistake and went back to the post office to get refunded on the half she shoudnt have paid. The response fron the post office was "sorry TV licence fee is - non refundable"
Non refundable??? what does that mean?? Highly incensed, I called TV licencing and spent half a day trying to pursuade them that they had 'made a mistake' and should correct it! The policy 'no refunds' was stated over and over again. I managed to get to the top of the pile and told the gentleman that I will not give up on this particular complaint until he refunded the lady. I also told him that I felt it was my duty to report the incedent as a crime to the police for trying to take advantage of a disabled and vulnerable elderly person by trying to obtain money by deception and that the police would decide whether the policy was lawfully or not. 3 days later the lady contacted me to tell me that they had given her a free full years licence and had sent her a cheque for £200. There you have it - they would rob the blind if they could

I have never paid for a TV license. A few years ago I had to purchase a couple of televisions solely for monitoring and video editing purposes. I called up TV licensing and told them that I have equipment capable of receiving a TV signal, but that I do not watch TV and do not intend to pollute my consciousness at any time in the future with the inane drivel and propaganda they broadcast. They've never bothered me since.

About ten years ago I sent a TV licensing pre-paid envelope back with "Television Scum" printed on the envelope, and another one with "A man who watches TV has no integrity"......

what did Bill Hicks say? "Watching television is like taking black spray paint to your third eye"

And after being asked to do a commercial for an orange drink, he said:

hi guys ......i have not paid tv tax for over a year now....i love it when they come to the door......from my understanding as i stand at the front door i am presumed innocent......therefore he has to prove my guilt ....inform him of this then answer every question with "i could not possibly answer that question for fear i may incriminate myself" !!!! thier faces go complately blank and is usually met with "well do you have a tv or don't you ??" hahahahaha.......then get in your car and drive away its hilarious.......i was laughing so hard one day i had to pull over at the end of the street .......peace guys and don't let em get you down.......

These TVLA 'people' use threats and lies in order to persecute the poorest and most disadvantaged people on these islands, they must be stopped, I have refused to pay for 14 years and will continue to do so.

I stopped watching tv last year and recieved a refund of £32 for the remaining period. Was promised a visit, which hasnt occurred yet. The propaganda is amazing, the bias stupendous. I have better uses for my money!

Recently I took the MOD to court as they stiffed me out of a months pension as I recently got married again in the Philippines, it seams they have crafted a law that allows them to only pay you from the time you notify them, not as logic, and anything that could masquerade as legality in this country would dictate, so Im down £230 because of the Establishment, and as a result of that I have to rip £230 back off that Establishment.
So Ive sent them the letter downloaded from this website, saying I will not pay the TV licence fee, and Ive waited four weeks for a reply. Ive recieved a reply two full pages of the utmost drivel you have ever seen, they make no threats I should pay, in fact they dance right round that subject, which leads me to believe there might just be something in the notion we dont have to pay. I would deerly like to share but Im computer iliterate so I need an address I can send it to so you all can see the lame excuses they give for the money advanced to them from the EU, aparently its loans guys not the evil money were led to believe. But if you believe anything that comes from this Establishment partys, then you must also believe in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfes, not to mention the Easter Bunny. In Australia the licence fee was twenty dollars, £10, and to a man they all refused to pay, it wasnt an organised thing we just didnt pay, and it was going to be too expensive to police so its now all free and has been for 25 years, wake up guys, get organised and give them the finger, and it doesnt mean your number one!!.

I, Thom Norris, do withdraw my support for the BBC via non-payment of the TV license as of today and I will pursue to the full extent of the law ANYBODY that tries to unlawfully deceive, threaten or intimidate me in an attempt to make me pay this form of stealth tax. The first letter's in the post, I'm awaiting the reply, the direct debit is cancelled until I receive a satisfactory response to the argument put forward! I have refused to pay the license on moral grounds for around one year. I absolutely, resolutely refuse to do so currently, even when faced with a representative of the BBC regards to writing down my particulars, and telling me that I was in possession of a working TV, and it was on whilst he was at the door. I ask him why he wanted this info, and informed him that I had written on a couple of occasions reiterating as to my opposition to this charge. I am against the BBC's immoral and biased programming. I am against it's pro-EU stance, and I refuse to pay the license whilst it is used as a leftist state broadcasting organisation, which uses Communist type mass propaganda techniques as used by the USSR and East European bloc in it's hayday. Also, the amount of subtle, and not so subtle ''anti white'' racism and anti-British programming and news format is alien to me. In addition, I will never pay the license fee again whilst certain, ridiculously high paid, foul mouthed ''stars'' are employed within it.
